Day Twelve
Gearhart Beach House
Scary big storm has hit. We refuse to even go outside with 70 mph winds and sideways rain.  We lost power and have no lights or heat. Our humans are doing everything to keep us calm. The house is shaking and thank god for the fireplace.

Day Eleven
Gearhart Beach House
The weather changes fast and it’s cold today. The wind makes beautiful patterns in the sea grass.  We take a long walk with our visiting friends and settle into a quiet Sunday.

Day Ten
Gearhart Beach House
It almost feels like California today as it is 74 degrees and sunny. The beach is especially beautiful. We notice a few people have arrived at their beach houses for the weekend. We see a sea lion on the beach and give him lots of space. Our humans take us to Seaside for lunch and to explore the town.  We enjoy our visiting friends and the comfort of this beach house.

Day Nine
Gearhart Beach House
No more sun. The Oregon rain has arrived. We are prepared and enjoy our 3 mile walk all the same. Our Pug friend Ollie, from Seattle, has arrive with her human to spend the weekend with us. Happy days!

Day Eight
Gearhart Beach House
We still have the beach to ourselves. We can walk for miles and miles along the beach and dunes. The sun is shining and we are really starting to like it here.

Day Seven
Lincoln City to Gearhart: 97 miles
We hated to leave Lincoln City, it was so dog friendly. We even did some surfing. But we had to continue North. We checked out the spectacular North Oregon Coast and arrived at our dog friendly rented beach house arranged by Vacation Rentals By Owner.  We are here for a whole week and it is spectacular. The beach is wide open and we have it to ourselves. There is a huge dune that separates our house from the ocean and we see weird creatures wandering by (deer, elk, and bald eagles).  We like our new home away from home.

Day Six
Coos Bay to Lincoln City: 119 miles
We hit the road early and what a fun day.  We did some whale watching and hiked around a lake. Oregon has these huge sand dunes and our human went dune surfing (like snowboarding only on sand). We got to run along side until we could run no more. We checked into The Looking Glass Inn, where they greeted us with a basket filled with doggie stuff (bowls, blankets, treats, etc). We immediately checked out the beach and then fell asleep in front of the fireplace.

Day Five
Brookings to Coos Bay: 109 miles
We drove up the coast past tons of amazing Oregon beaches. Ended up at Red Lion Inn which are all dog friendly. Not a very scenic port city but we enjoyed the ride and guarded the car whenever our humans went somewhere we could not.  We notice that dog owners in this town do not pick up their dog poop. We are happy to be with our humans (who got a lot of work done here) but look forward to moving North.

Day Four
McKinleyville to Brookings OR: 96 miles
After driving through lots of redwood forests we entered Oregon today and checked into the Best Western right on the beach. We had a blast exploring all the driftwood filled beach and walking the marina filled with fishing and crabbing boats.  We enjoyed this comfy hotel room with a view.

Day Three
Mendicino to McKinleyville: 155 miles
After a long walk along the coast we had another long winding car ride. We arrived at The Sea View Hotel up above Eureka where we had our own little cottage. We were surrounded by ranches but still close to the ocean. We enjoyed the 4 acres we shared with some big cows.  We met some ranch dogs on our walks; they didn’t think much of us city dogs
